Shift: M-F 7AM-3:30PM

Job Summary:

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our facilities and grounds, and equipment, while ensuring safety and security.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform interior and exterior painting using latex, oil-based, epoxy, or specialty paints.
  • Repair and replace door hardware, including handles, hinges, and closers; maintain key and card access systems.
  • Install and repair electrical components such as switches, outlets, motion sensors, and light fixtures.
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, faucets, drains, and shutoff valves.
  • Conduct carpentry tasks such as building/repairing walls, installing and finishing drywall, and working with suspended ceilings.
  • Install and repair various flooring types, including VCT, ceramic tile, and carpet.
  • Maintain landscape responsibilities as needed (snow removal, weeding, etc.).
  • Assemble and move furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Set up and take down tables, chairs, and other equipment for special or community events.
  • Respond to and resolve safety hazards or emergencies such as leaks, clogs, or other urgent maintenance issues.
  • Report and repair damage to facilities and property.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work environments.
  • Perform basic automotive maintenance and repairs.
  • Secure facilities as needed by locking doors, closing windows, and setting alarms.
  • Remain on call for after-hours facility and maintenance needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Minimum two years of maintenance experience, preferably in an office or school setting.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair methods.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with standard safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientious work habits.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor consistently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and inclusively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee may be required to spend time both inside and outside the buildings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may also be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
