Reliability Technician; Ohmes

Job Summary

Mars Petcare is seeking a Reliability Technician for our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Kansas City, Mo. In this role, you will provide hands‑on technical support and leadership on the production floor. You will build the team’s maintenance capabilities, troubleshoot equipment, and drive operational targets for safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Diagnose and repair routine electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and drive systems.
• Perform and document mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance using SAP, and proactively identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
• Lead breakdown analysis and root‑cause problem‑solving efforts to eliminate production losses; help develop and execute continuous improvement standards (CIL, Centerline, etc.).
• Train and mentor other technicians to enhance their troubleshooting and repair skills, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Uphold and promote all plant safety and GMP requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space procedures.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous maintenance experience or formal technical education.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions (heat, cold, heights).

• A technical degree in industrial maintenance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, especially with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
• Demonstrated experience in a role with a focus on safety and quality.
