Job Overview
Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri. Our Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing and repairing heavy machinery in the shop, including large and small earthmoving equipment.
Hourly Base Rate: $24.62 - $58.30 / hour
What You Will Do in This RolePerform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments. Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision. Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. Develop and maintain long‑lasting working relationships with customers. Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
OurIdeal Candidate
Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics. General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments. Welding background (MIG and Stick experience). Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications.
What Will Put You Ahead- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment)
- Certified Welder (3G/4G) with equipment repair welding experience
- Stable work history
- Knowledge of use of various heavy equipment and the ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
