The Children’s Division is seeking dedicated professionals to serve as Associate/Social Services Specialists (I, II, and III). Specialists deliver and coordinate protective services involving neglected, abused, or exploited children, foster care, parent services, and adoptions. The role includes working directly with families, conducting case management, providing referrals, coordinating services, and maintaining stability for children through in-home and community-based support.
- Record and maintain case activity, preparing all required reports.
- Refer families and children to community resources and collaborate with other agencies.
- Evaluate children’s needs and eligibility for services through interviews and assessments.
- Deliver protective services for neglected, abused, or exploited children.
- Coordinate foster care, adoption, and family-centered services.
- Provide in-home crisis intervention, visitation, and consultation to foster parents and families.
- Work closely with law enforcement, juvenile officers, and community partners.
- Attend court hearings and case staffing as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent, and 4+ years of professional experience in protective services OR a Bachelor’s degree (substitutions allowed).
Social Services Specialist (Level II), $2,021.22 semi-monthlyHigh School Diploma or equivalent, and 5+ years of experience in protective services OR a Bachelor’s degree (substitutions allowed) plus 1+ year of experience.
Social Services Specialist (Level III), $2,150.09 semi-monthlyHigh School Diploma or equivalent, and 6+ years of experience in protective services OR a Bachelor’s degree (substitutions allowed) plus 2+ years of experience.
⚠️ A valid vehicle operator’s license is required.
⚠️ Position may require statewide travel and being on-call.
