PositionSummary
The Specialized Resource Navigator-Financial Access Navigator will support individuals and families living in affordable housing by identifying and addressing financial barriers that may prevent them from achieving their employment, education, and economic mobility goals. The Navigator will specialize in helping participants access financial resources, develop financial management strategies, and connect with community partners and services that support their ability to obtain and maintain employment.
This position is funded through a 3-year grant in partnership with the Coalition for Equity and Opportunity (CEO). The goal of this project is to ensure individuals in affordable housing can meet their employment goals through addressing multiple barriers to economic mobility, including financial barriers to employment. The Navigator’s time will be spent on activities to remove financial barriers for participants and meet the mission of both Phoenix Family and the CEO.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) in-person position, and the Navigator will be on site at various Phoenix Family-supported communities monthly. The salary range for this role is $48,000 - $51,000. The Specialized Resource Navigator will report to the Program Manager of Phoenix Family.
- Work in coordination with CEO project team, including Life Coaches and Specialized Resource Navigators, as well as community resources to address financial access related barriers to workforce training and employment.
- Provide specialized navigation, education, outreach, and enrollment directly with participants and potential participants at Phoenix Family-supported housing communities. Develop materials and information for use in collaboration with the CEO project team.
- Maintain regularly scheduled hours at Phoenix Family-supported housing communities in coordination with Phoenix Family Service Coordinators and the CEO project team.
- Build relationships and collaborate with community partners, advocates, coalitions, and financial institutions to expand knowledge of available resources, strengthen access to financial planning and employment-related supports, help families overcome barriers to employment, and navigate benefit cliffs.
- Serve as a presenter for workshops and community events (content and presentation coaching will be provided by the organization).
- Complete intensive training and ongoing workshops on the CEO model including trauma-informed care and the EMPath Mobility Mentoring® evidence-based coaching approach, and all training as assigned.
- Timely and accurate record keeping of participant interactions, attendance, barrier removal, and partnership building.
- Other relevant duties as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in non-profit, community outreach, or a related field preferred.
- Lived experience or experience working with people living in poverty and an understanding of barriers faced, particularly financial barriers to employment when seeking workforce training and employment.
