This role is responsible for contributing to the design and development of innovative software solutions for complex business needs. You will work with clients and stakeholders to help define software solution strategy and contribute to architectural decisions using advanced technologies.
What You'll Do- Lead development of complex software components and features.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define software solution strategy and architecture.
- Manage assigned tasks, contribute to defining scope, technical approach, and delivery plans.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security through reviews, testing, and optimization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate software into enterprise systems.
- Support the evolution of development practices and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in computer science or related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of education, at least 9 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and container orchestration.
- Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor others.
- Experience designing solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to build and maintain APIs that enable seamless communication between backend, frontend, and third‑party services.
- Performance and scalability expertise—optimizing server and database architecture to handle traffic spikes.
- Familiarity with languages and frameworks such as Python, C#, and JavaScript/Node.js.
- Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Oracle, or other No
SQL systems. - Experience developing and maintaining public‑facing SaaS applications for stakeholder engagement and data collection.
- Experience integrating third‑party services and APIs (e.g., communication tools, data systems, GIS, outreach platforms).
- Knowledge of secure application design practices, including PII data protection, role‑based access control, and public‑sector compliance frameworks (NIST, SOC, ISO).
- Understanding of SSO integrations such as SAML and identity providers like Entra .
- Strong experience building and supporting cloud‑native applications on AWS, including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS), storage (S3, EBS), databases (RDS, DynamoDB), and networking (VPC, subnets, security groups).
- Deep understanding of the AWS Shared Responsibility Model and secure cloud design.
- Proficiency in logging, monitoring, and security services such as Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, and Security Hub.
- Excellent project and time‑management skills and ability to collaborate with front‑end developers and other team members.
