Summaryof Position
The Maintenance Associate is responsible for supporting the Facilities & Equipment Technician with the day to day general warehouse operations, fleet and equipment maintenance and projects as needed for Kanbe’s growing operations. Time will be spent in the warehouse and occasionally offsite as directed. The position reports to the Facilities & Equipment Technician.
CoreDuties & Responsibilities General Warehouse
- Maintain organization, cleanliness and work flow of warehouse spaces
- Respond to warehouse service requests
- Manage trash and recycling levels within warehouse
- Operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment including: cardboard baler, forklift, etc.
- Support fleet maintenance logistics
- Routine fleet inspections and recordkeeping
- Partner store equipment service and inspections
- Direct communication with vendor and maintenance contacts
- Ongoing feedback for maintenance processes and procedures
- Data entry as it relates to programs and facility needs
- General handyman / repair experience
- Attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve / troubleshoot
- “Fix it” mentality
- Janitorial experience
- Able to lift 40lbs
- Valid drivers license
- Basic computer skills including email, spreadsheet, and online programs (with training)
- Automotive maintenance experience
- Electrical repair experience
- HVAC / Refrigeration experience
- Forklift Certified
- Electric Pallet Jack Certification
- Class E License
- Experience driving vehicles up to 24’ long (CDL not necessary)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with a history of safe driving.
- Passing a driving skills assessment administered by Kanbe’s Operations leadership.
- Negative drug test prior to employment.
- Starting hourly rate: $20/hour (commensurate with experience)
- Full-time position with health insurance benefits
- Paid Time Off (PTO) available after 90 days of continuous employment
Within 1 month you will:
- Finish your orientation to the Kanbe’s mission, workflow, staff, current projects and get set up on all Kanbe’s systems
- Ride along with a delivery driver to see our community in person, see our coolers in operation and understand the daily lifecycle of the Kanbe’s operation
- Work a shift in the food sorting area learning about the Kanbe’s Redirection program
- Integrate into the warehouse daily operations, getting to know the facility and equipment.
- Responding to maintenance requests
- Performing inspections and preventive maintenance
Within 3 months you will:
- Begin routine inspections of partner store equipment
- Resolve maintenance requests as first point of contact
- Coordinate vendor and technician visits as needed
