PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Supervisor Bridge Inspection Vehicle leads a specialized team responsible for operating CPKC's bridge inspection vehicle to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant evaluation of railway structures across the network. This role oversees field operations, coordinates inspection activities, and ensures accurate reporting to support infrastructure integrity and regulatory adherence, and requires a minimum of 80% travel across the territory. The position is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

POSITION

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead daily bridge inspection vehicle operations
  • Plan inspection schedules, routes, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations
  • Conduct field safety briefings and enforce safe work practices
  • Coordinate track access with dispatch engineering and maintenance
  • Operate and direct under-bridge inspection vehicle and support equipment
  • Review inspection data photos and reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to maintain high performance
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Minimum of 4 years of railroad track or bridge experience
  • Valid Class A CDL or Class B CDL driver's license
  • Position requires 80% travel and participation in an on-call schedule for emergency response to ensure operational coverage
  • Knowledge of railroad bridge inspection, maintenance, and construction practices with strong communication skills and proficiency in computer systems

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety-sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post-hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
