Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join the administrative team at Jefferson West High School. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective communication within the school environment. This full-time position requires a proactive approach to support the educational mission of the school while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and other essential documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
- Assist in the coordination of school events, meetings, and activities, including scheduling and communication with staff and parents.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate student services and support programs.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Assist in the management of school communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and announcements.
- Provide assistance to the school principal and other administrators as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment to promote efficiency and professionalism.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of school policies and procedures is preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
