Who We Are

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 13,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has 1 early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th‑12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

What

We Need

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources and Manager of Certification and Talent Acquisition this position will provide district support for all incoming mail and redistribution to the appropriate school/office/individuals. Work in collaboration with Human Resources in fingerprinting of employees and in scanning files to build an electronic record. This individual must have strong multitasking skills and an in-depth knowledge of WPS to direct mail to the appropriate location.

The individual must also have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation. Use of time efficiently is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pack and unpack internal district mail for delivery and distribution.
  • Keep mail slots and bags updated for mail distribution.
  • Meter mail daily and prepare for delivery to the Post Office.
  • Log postage charges for charge back to the appropriate department/division.
  • Report postage charges and postage needs in a timely manner.
  • Work with postal vendors in keeping supplies on hand.
  • Daily upkeep of correspondence which includes but is not limited to email.
  • Support Human Resources in the fingerprinting process of employees.
  • Scan employee files for development of electronic filing system.
  • Secure all employee records in a highly confidential manner.
  • Assist Human Resources with mass projects.
