Duties
1. Leads three or more security clerks in the performance of pass, registration and other section-related duties.
2. Processes applications and issues identification cards, controlled and restricted area badges, vehicle registration, and temporary passes to eligible personnel.
3. Maintains automated Entry Authorization Listing (EAL) of controlled and restricted area badges issued to eligible personnel.
4. Performs clerical support to ensure efficient office operations. Receives and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to appropriate staff. Receives and refers visitors. Answers recurring questions and resolves recurring clerical and administrative problems.
5. Maintains controlled forms Maintains control logs for identification cards, and controlled and restricted area badges for maintenance and destruction of accountable forms in accordance with applicable AF instructions. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* Typing and computer operation is performed, however, a qualified typist is not required.
* Good customer service skills are essential.
* Pre-employment physical maybe required. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Standards for General Schedule Positions Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the GS-0086, Security Clerical and Assistance Series. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes security principles, regulatory provisions, rules, regulations, directives, DoD suitability criteria, procedures and operations to perform such duties as managing the base Visitor Control Center to support controlling, issuing and accounting for restricted area badges and process a wide variety of standard , contractor access badges or other forms of base access authorization;
general clerical office procedures.

EDUCATION:
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of security processes and procedures and general clerical office functions.
2. Knowledge of Pass and Registration security processes and the procedures, forms, and information required to verify against authorization documents, issue badges, passes, vehicle permits, or other forms of authorization.
3. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data information, support office and security operations, and produce a variety of documents and reports.
4. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
6. Ability to orient lower graded employees, distribute/balance work assignments, and monitor work accomplishment. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
