Project Design Coordinator

K-Construction has been building post-frame and steel-frame shops, ag buildings, barndominiums, and commercial projects across the Flint Hills for over 30 years. We're based in Alta Vista, Kansas, and we build things that are meant to last. We're looking for a Project Design Coordinator to work hand in hand with our sales and project management teams and turn projects into designs that actually get built.

This isn't a typical design role. A degree is great, but we care most about a sharp, practical mind and a willingness to learn.

What you'd do:

• Support pre-construction by creating proposal drawings and floor plans for custom homes and dream shops
• Build renderings that help clients see exactly what they're getting, and give the sales team something real to work with
• Produce construction drawings, site plans, and electrical plans
• Generate accurate material lists from your designs
• Work with project management to hand off construction drawings and everything the crews need to build the project
• Coordinate across the full team, sales and project management alike, to keep projects moving
• Help us figure out new design tools and technology, including AI

• Both creative and practical. You like to design, but you design for what can actually be built
• Curious about how things work and good at solving problems
• Comfortable with computers and quick to pick up new tools
• Genuinely interested in technology and where it's headed
• Careful with details
• Works well with a team

Helpful, but not required:

• Any CAD, Revit, or design software experience, or the drive to learn it
• Experience using AI tools in a design or work setting
• An engineering, construction, or drafting background of any kind
• Experience with ag or light commercial construction
