The district is seeking a licensed At-Risk Preschool Teacher for a four-year-old program operating on a four-day school week
. This position provides developmentally appropriate, standards-based instruction aligned with Kansas Early Learning Standards (KELS) to support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of at-risk preschool students. The teacher creates a safe, nurturing learning environment, collaborates with families and support staff, and maintains required documentation in compliance with KSDE and at-risk program guidelines
. A valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate early childhood endorsement is required.
Single plan 100% paid for health, dental and vision
SalaryBase salary of 48,200 for the 25-26 school year

494, Syracuse, islocated inwestern Kansas on highway 50 just 14 miles from the Colorado border and operates on Mountain Standard Time. USD #494 is a large 2-Adistrictwith a PK - 6 building and a7-12 building located ona common campus. Both buildings continue to demonstrate high academic achievement and Syracuse High School has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. Thehigh school/middle school building was completed in the year 2000.
The recentpassageof a bond proposal by Hamilton County voters provided funding for a new multi-purpose gymnasium, agriculture education building, and modern track& field complex completed in October 2015.The district serves approximately 530 students and employs 45 licensed staff and 35 classified staff. Syracuse High School provides rigorous curricula anda variety of courses including concurrent classes for qualifying high school students andsix CTE pathways.
District technology is continuously upgradedandall 9 - 12 students are issued laptops for use at school and elementary school offers an exceptional
Early Childhood program and free all-day Kindergarten.
Recent additions include two new state-of-the
- art computer labs and technology upgrades foryet another lab as well as interactive classroom applications. Our third through sixth grades aredepartmentalizedto help prepare students for junior high.
