USD 323 is seeking a dynamic, student-focused leader to serve as Principal at Rock Creek High School
. The principal provides leadership in curriculum, instruction, school operations, personnel supervision, and student services, fostering a safe, engaging, and high-performing learning environment for students and staff.
- Minimum of five (5) years classroom teaching experience
- Building-level administrative experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to student achievement, staff development, and community engagement
- Ensure the effective operation of Rock Creek High School, guiding staff and students in the organization and implementation of curriculum, activities, and school programs
- Prepare class schedules and communicate student regulations, building policies, and procedures to staff
- Clarify staff duties and responsibilities through appropriate communication channels
- Supervise and evaluate licensed and classified personnel
- Prepare the building budget and submit it to the Superintendent
- Collaborate with custodial and maintenance staff to recommend facility improvements and maintenance plans
- Inspect the building and grounds regularly to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Oversee supplies and instructional equipment
- Organize and conduct staff, student, and parent meetings as needed for school operations
- Develop and implement a school safety plan, including fire and tornado drills
- Actively participate in curriculum development to enhance instructional offerings
- Provide administrative leadership that is in compliance with state guidelines and Board policies
- Recruit, screen, and interview qualified candidates for licensed and classified positions in collaboration with the Superintendent
- Maintain student records in accordance with Kansas statutes and Board policies, ensuring confidentiality and security
- Attend and supervise school activities and provide appropriate sponsorship for all school organizations
- Manage instructional materials, including textbooks and workbooks
- Develop and maintain the student handbook
- Encourage students to pursue scholarships and post-secondary education opportunities with support from counselors
- Remain open to areas of improvement and serve in additional capacities as directed by the Superintendent
- Perform any other duties necessary for the efficient operation and promotion of an effective school program
