Plainville USD 270 is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 7th‑9th Grade Math Teacher to join our school community beginning August 2026. - Appropriate Kansas teaching license required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Kansas teaching license issued by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), or eligibility to obtain one
- License must be appropriate for middle/secondary grades, covering grades 7–9 (e.g., Secondary 6–12 or an equivalent combination that includes middle and secondary levels)
- Mathematics endorsement appropriate to the assignment, such as General Mathematics (6–12) or Mathematics, authorizing instruction at the middle and secondary level
- Contract length determined annually by the Board of Education
- Salary and benefits determined annually by the Board of Education
- Support the district’s vision, mission, and values
- Implement all policies and statutes established by KSDE, governmental agencies, and the local Board of Education
- Teach district‑adopted math standards using research‑based instructional strategies
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment
- Address individual student needs and provide differentiated instruction
- Plan and implement effective lessons using time, materials, and resources efficiently
- Monitor student progress through assessments and use data to guide instruction
- Initiate student intervention processes when additional academic support is needed
- Communicate openly and effectively with students, parents, staff, administration, and community members
- Collaborate positively and productively with colleagues
- Respond to change with flexibility and professionalism
- Procure instructional supplies and equipment following district procedures
- Stay current with educational trends and research through professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or administrative staff
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
- Repetitive motions
- Stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, and turning
- Occasional work in noisy, crowded, or high‑activity environments
Not fully licensed yet? Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in science may qualify for a stipend through a Fort Hays State University (FHSU) grant to earn licensure while teaching.
