Overview
North Lake School District invites you to bring your passion, vision, and love of the outdoors home.
In the wide-open spaces of Oregon’s high desert, North Lake School District offers a rare opportunity for a superintendent who is ready to lead with vision, heart, and a deep respect for community. Here, leadership is personal and impact is immediate—you’ll work alongside dedicated educators, families, and students who value relationships, trust, and the shared responsibility of shaping the future. This is a district where your voice matters and your leadership can leave a lasting legacy.
We invite you to consider the opportunity to serve as North Lake’s new Superintendent, effective July 1.
North Lake serves as a vital center for Silver Lake, Christmas Valley, and Fort Rock, providing a gathering place and fostering strong community ties. With 210 K-12 students, it offers small classes, personalized learning, and boasts a 100% graduation rate and top OSAA Cup rankings. Students benefit from college credit and dual enrollment options while in high school. Additionally, qualifying graduates are awarded up to $10,000 for post-secondary education, supported by the Bernard Daly Educational Fund, a century-old “Promise Scholarship”, the first place-based endowed scholarship in the nation.
Robust CTE, agriculture, and FFA programs prepare students for college and careers, while the district maintains strong finances and excellent facilities.
Beyond the school day, Southern Central Oregon, unfolds as an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. From hiking, rock scrambling, mountain biking, and wildlife watching near the ancient volcanic landscape of Fort Rock, to world-class fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding on pristine high-desert lakes, adventure is always just outside your door. Winter brings snowshoeing and cross-country skiing under vast, quiet skies, while summers are defined by long days, cool evenings, and unforgettable sunsets.
La Pine, Mt. Bachelor, Sunriver, and Bend, provide additional recreational opportunities for the adventurer.
The raw beauty of the high desert—sagebrush plains, rimrock views, and expansive horizons—mirrors the character of this close-knit rural community: resilient, grounded, and authentic. Life here moves with purpose, offering space to think, lead, and truly belong. If you’re seeking a superintendent role that blends meaningful educational leadership with an exceptional quality of life, North Lake School District invites you to bring your passion, vision, and love of the outdoors home.
