Lead the Future of Early Learning in USD 365

USD 365 is seeking a visionary- collaborative- and student-centered leader to serve as our Early Childhood Coordinator
. This full-time- 12-month position provides the opportunity to shape and strengthen early learning programming across the district while working closely with building principals and the Superintendent of Schools.

We are looking for a professional who is passionate about high-quality early childhood education and committed to building systems that support young learners- families- and staff. The ideal candidate will lead program development- ensure compliance with state regulations- support staff growth- and cultivate strong partnerships with families and community providers.

This leadership role combines instructional oversight- staff supervision- community engagement- and program management to ensure USD 365’s Early Learning Program provides a safe- welcoming- and developmentally appropriate environment where children thrive.

Salary range: $50-000–$80-000

Position Title: Early Childhood Coordinator
Location: District-wide
Reports To: Superintendent of Schools
FLSA Status: Exempt
Contract: Full-time- 12 months- 40 hours/week
Salary: $50-000–$80-000 depending upon qualifications

Position Purpose

The USD 365 Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for the planning- coordination- and delivery of high-quality early childhood learning programs across the district. The Coordinator works closely with building principals and the Superintendent of Schools to ensure compliance with regulations- support staff development- and create safe- welcoming- and developmentally appropriate environments for young learners.

Essential Functions

  • Plan- implement- and oversee the USD 365 Early Learning Program.
  • Recruit- interview- and hire early childhood staff.
  • Ensure efficient staff scheduling to maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
  • Monitor compliance with local- state- and federal regulations- including Kansas Department of Health and Environment standards.
  • Provide direct support in classrooms as needed.
  • Recommend program modifications based on observations and data.
  • Promote the Early Learning Program within the community.

Staff Development & Supervision

  • Coordinate and instruct required staff development- training- and orientation.
  • Maintain accurate staff training records and prepare required reports.
  • Conduct annual written performance evaluations of all early childhood staff.
  • Serve as a role model for staff in professionalism- behavior- and appearance.
  • Assist in creating the annual budget and monitor program expenses monthly.
  • Maintain financial records to ensure participant tuition is current.
  • Maintain a consistent system for reporting program information to the Superintendent.

Student & Family Support

  • Provide a safe- welcoming- and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
  • Communicate effectively with staff- families- and community partners.
  • Liaise with community child care providers
    - Head Start- and other support agencies.

Professional Expectations

  • Display adaptability- good judgment- and dependability.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities effectively and respond positively to constructive feedback.
  • Adhere to all district health- safety- and confidentiality policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational degree and Kansas teaching license- or eligibility for licensure.
  • Building Leadership license or elgible to begin licensure program
  • Knowledge of Kansas Department of Health and Environment regulations for early childhood centers.
  • At least 21 years of age.
