Location: MulvaneMulvane School District is accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher at our Mulvane Middle School
Purpose
Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, school counselors promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
Purpose
Provide consultation, coordination, planning, curricular resources, evaluation, remediation, and direct instructional services for students with exceptional needs who are placed in a special education program for the majority of the school day.

Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree (B.A.) and appropriate Kansas certification in teaching.Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office (after employment offer is made).Essential Functions

Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.General Responsibilities
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.Assists the Individualized Education Planning Team in designing an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for students with exceptional needs who are to be assigned to the special class for the majority of their school day.Provides direct instruction and services for pupils whose needs are identified in a written IEP. Monitors the IEP of each student placed in the special education class and assumes responsibility for contacting and consulting with parents and Individualized Educational Planning Team about indicated changes in the IEP.Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the administration.Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - - in harmony with the goals - - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media,…
