USD 498 Valley Heights is seeking a passionate and dedicated 7-12 English Language Arts teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to student success, strong relationships, and creating engaging learning experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and life.
Key Responsibilities- Teach English Language Arts courses in grades 7-12, including reading, writing, literature, and communication skills.
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in professional development and collaborative planning.
- Support school activities and promote a positive school culture.
- Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate endorsement (or ability to obtain).
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Commitment to building positive relationships with students and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
- Experience teaching English Language Arts.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction.
