The After School Program Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the after‑school program at Prairie Heights Elementary. This role is critical in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students. The Coordinator will plan and implement activities that promote academic enrichment, social development, and physical well‑being while ensuring the program remains aligned with the school's values and objectives.
Salary and BenefitsPosition is benefits‑eligible and pays a base hourly rate of $14.00. Additional compensation for prior related work experience may be granted.

Key Responsibilities- Program Management
:
Develop and manage the after‑school program curriculum, ensuring activities are age‑appropriate, engaging, and aligned with educational goals; create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students; ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and health and safety standards. - Student Engagement
:
Foster positive relationships with students; promote an inclusive atmosphere; implement activities that reflect student interests (arts, sports, homework help, social skills development); monitor student behavior and implement appropriate guidance and discipline when necessary. - Communication & Collaboration
:
Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and school administrators regarding program updates and student progress; communicate regularly with families about the program schedule, events, and participant needs; collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate academic support and enrichment opportunities. - Program Evaluation
:
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; solicit feedback from students, parents, and staff to improve offerings; prepare reports and documentation as required for program funding, assessment, or compliance.
- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in after‑school programming.
- Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability.
Job is performed in a school environment and/or outside, dependent on weather conditions.
