Instructional Aide

USD 320, Wamego, has a vacancy for an Instructional Aide in grades 3-5 at West Elementary School for the  school year. This is not a certified teaching position; however, Instructional Aides serve as instructors to small groups of students outside or within the regular classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers with a variety of duties.
• Cover classrooms as substitute teachers when needed.
• Assist with before‑school, recess/lunch, and after‑school duty.
• Provide instructional support to small groups of students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours.
• Instructional experience preferred.
• Knowledge of educational best practices for elementary students preferred.

Compensation:

• $16.35 per hour for candidates with a Bachelor's degree.
• $17.86 per hour for candidates with a valid Kansas Teaching License.

Hours:

approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including professional development days and workdays. Candidates will work the same days as all classroom teachers.
