Position Title: Childcare Assistant Teacher

Status: 12 Month Contract

Reports To: Childcare Director

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Wage Determination: Annual Salary determined by Board of Education

• 16+ years of age

• Ensure that children are safe and that their everyday needs are met – this may include diapering, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Engage in positive interaction with children to build confidence and self-esteem.
• Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in developmental activities.
• Effectively discipline children who are misbehaving.
• Model and encourage good social skills, e.g. strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Monitor and report developmental or safety concerns.

• Constant bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Constantly alternating between sitting and standing
• Normally does not lift objects weighing more than 50lbs

Terms of Employment: Classified Personnel position, 12-month contract, 30-hour work week. Does not require a teaching or administrative certificate. Salary to be determined by Board of Education. Pay starting at $13.85/hour.
