Provide support to students with disabilies through instruconal support, modeling, monitoring and documenng student acvies across all instruconal sengs.

• Educaon/Cerficaon:
  High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• All Elementary para educators must be Highly Qualified (48+ college hours Or college degree Or take/pass Highly Qualified Assessment).
• Special Knowledge/
  
  Skills:
  
  Excellent organizaonal, communicaon, and interpersonal skills; ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; ability to present informaon one-on-one, small group, and large group situaons to students.
• Experience:
  
  None required but preferred

• Provides academic support to students (e.g. reading, wring, verbal skills, etc.) and supports the implementaon of IEP goals, assisng in adapng student needs into mainstream classrooms, and ensuring student success.
• Assist with adapng classroom acvies, assignments, and materials to support and reinforce classroom objecves while working under the direcon of the licensed staff member.
• Ulizes effecve communicaon skills with a variety of individuals (e.g. supervising instruconal staff, professional support personnel, etc.) supporng the implementaon of IEP objecves and evaluaon of student progress.
• Aends assigned meengs to acquire and convey informaon relave to job funcons.
• Complete documents regarding student(s) daily acvies for the purpose of compleng daily logs and student's hourly acvies.
• Models desired behaviors (e.g. conversaon, manners, cleaning acvies, listening, everyday interacons, etc.) for students in mulple sengs.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special condions to reinforce learning concepts.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance (e.g. diapering, tube feeding, colostomy bags, medicaon, etc.) to meet immediate health care needs while assisng with daily living acvies and behavioral skills.
• Remains with students at all mes ensuring the safety of students, removes students when necessary, and de-escalang situaions outside the classroom.
• Reports incidents for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a posive learning environment, and adhering to State Law and school policies as a mandated reporter.
• Work cooperavely with all staff on various tasks and/or assignments.
• Ability to learn, understand, and reteach appropriate curriculum to meet student needs.
• Performs other related dues as assigned to ensure the efficient and effecve funconing of the work unit.

• Tools/Equipment Used:
  Standard office equipment including computer and phone, standard classroom technology including computers and peripherals.
• Posture:
  Prolonged standing, frequent walking.
• Moon:
  Significant pushing/pulling, kneeling/squang, bending/stooping and fine finger dexterity.
• Liing:
  Frequent liing and carrying (up to 75 pounds),
• Environment:
  Primarily indoors; some outdoor student supervision. Risk for exposure to injury and/or illness in some varying atmospheric condions.
• Mental Demands:
  Work with frequent interrupons, maintain emoonal control under stress, solve problems, make decisions and be flexible
• Aendance:
  Must maintain regular and acceptable aendance/punctuality as required by the Board of Educaon policies and regulaons.
