Greenwood County Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent

Kansas State University (K-State) is hiring an Extension Agent to deliver research-based nutrition and family wellness education to Greenwood County residents. The role involves developing and evaluating educational programs, collaborating with community partners, managing volunteers, and supporting local 4-H youth development initiatives.

• Lead family and consumer sciences programming including family life, nutrition, food safety, parenting, financial management, and health.
• Support 4-H youth development programs and manage volunteer coordination.
• Contribute to community vitality efforts to strengthen social, civic, economic, and technological capacities.
• Use electronic communication and computer applications for programming activities.
• Require a bachelor’s degree plus relevant coursework or professional experience in related fields.
• Must have valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
• Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, two or more years of professional experience, grant writing experience, and bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish).
• Salary range is $47,500 to $70,000, with benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave.
• Work involves cooperating with local extension board and regional extension director to develop and deliver community-focused programs.
