Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining facility compliance with Tyson's Work Safe and WeCare programs. It includes completing high‑risk job studies, tracking HMP investigations for root‑cause solutions, conducting floor tours and audits to identify ergonomic opportunities, and collaborating with internal safety and health teams to drive a culture of safety.
Responsibilities- Maintain compliance with Work Safe, WeCare, and high‑risk job studies.
- Track and analyze HMP investigations to identify root‑cause solutions.
- Conduct floor tours and audits to identify and address ergonomic opportunities.
- Collaborate with Nurse Supervisors, Safety Managers, case managers, athletic trainers, and physical therapists to investigate and promote safety culture.
- Assist with the Anago knife skills program – monitor knife room operator skills and report concerns.
- Participate in planning, installation, or execution of equipment or work‑area modifications to meet ergonomic requirements.
- Oversee the Omnisharp program, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate with service representatives, contractors, vendors, or engineering.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical equipment problems.
- Present ergonomics overviews during new‑hire orientation and track related records.
- Maintain ergonomic boards, implement improvements, and attend monthly corporate ergonomic meetings.
- Create and host ergonomic events as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Undergo a required background check as part of the hiring process.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education or vocational training preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in safety, occupational health & safety, or ergonomics, preferably in a beef facility.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- May supervise ergonomic personnel performing related tasks.
- Travel 1–5 times per year.
- Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
