Senior Process Engineer

Our client, a leading organization, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support operations at their crush facility in Goodland, KS. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will focus on process optimization, capital project execution, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is well suited for an engineering professional with experience in processing environments who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and enjoys driving measurable operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead implementation efforts to improve plant performance.
  • Conduct operational assessments focused on energy efficiency, chemical optimization, product yield improvement, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate existing plant processes and recommend solutions that increase efficiency and support long‑term operational goals.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, controls, and quality teams to develop and execute process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead assigned capital projects from concept through startup and successful implementation.
  • Ensure all engineering modifications and projects align with safety and environmental standards.
  • Support day-to-day plant operations by monitoring costs, production yields, quality metrics, and process performance.
  • Troubleshoot process‑related issues and implement sustainable solutions to improve operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • 3+ years of engineering experience within processing, food manufacturing, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven project management and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and drive effective solutions.
