Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and certified Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain our central utility plant systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boilers, chillers, and other power generation equipment. This is a critical role that requires a strong technical background and a commitment to ensuring all systems are running reliably to support essential base services.
Key Responsibilities- System Operations:
Operate, monitor, and control all central plant equipment, including steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps, using both automated and manual controls. - Maintenance & Repair:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime. - Performance Monitoring:
Conduct regular rounds, log readings, and analyze system performance data to ensure all equipment is operating within specified parameters. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including those from OSHA and environmental agencies. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all operational readings, maintenance activities, and repairs. - Emergency Response:
Respond to and mitigate equipment alarms, failures, and other emergency situations promptly and effectively.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a vocational program, technical school, or an associate's degree in power plant technology or a related field is a significant plus.
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Stationary Engineer or a similar role in an industrial or commercial setting.
Technical
Skills:
Strong knowledge of boiler operations, chiller systems, and HVAC principles. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Leadership:
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Certification: A valid driver's license is required. An active Stationary Engineer's license or a Boiler Operator's license is mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Must be able to work in diverse conditions, including exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and confined spaces.
