Location: Clay Center

We're partnering with a global food infrastructure company to hire a Project Engineer to lead and execute capital and process improvement projects within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency, supporting production growth, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of capital and process improvement projects
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables aligned with business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Oversee equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support new product introductions and facility layout changes
  • Maintain detailed project documentation including schedules, budgets, and specifications
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and engineering partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related)
  • 3–7+ years of experience in project engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience managing capital projects from concept through completion
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., fabrication, welding, or similar)
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • PMP certification or formal project management training is an asset
  • Experience with automation or equipment integration projects is preferred
  • CAD or engineering design experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with ERP systems and engineering data management tools (EPDM or similar)
  • Manufacturing facility with regular exposure to the production floor
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards promptly
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) in manufacturing settings
