Certified Fire Investigator

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote role covering Kansas and the Kansas City Metro area. The Certified Fire Investigator will conduct fire investigations and determine fire origin and cause. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with affiliates in related fields, preparing detailed investigation reports, and providing expert insights during litigation processes.

• Proficiency in Fire Investigation and experience in determining fire origin and cause
• Skilled in evidence handling, including collection, documentation, and preservation
• Familiarity with NFPA guidelines for investigations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in preparing detailed and accurate reports
• Ability to work independently in remote conditions while meeting deadlines
• Certification as a Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI preferred) and relevant experience in the field
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain private investigator license in the state of Kansas
