Position Information: The Hostess/Dietary Aide visits with in-patients to discuss menus, prepare and deliver meal trays and assist with dish washing procedures.
The Dietary Aide/Hostess reports to the Food Service Manager.
Hours: varied start times to 7:30 pm
What You’ll Do- Visit with in-patients to discuss the following day’s menus and their preferences.
- Prepare the evening meal trays.
- Assist with dish washing procedures.
- Plan and prepare production schedule and prepares the foods necessary to fill diet prescriptions during tray service.
- Wash dishes and trays.
- Complete required sanitation procedures.
- Deliver and pick up patient trays to and from patient care areas.
- Completes other duties as assigned, including working as Cafeteria Aide on weekends if necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous food service experience, preferred
- Self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and a team player.
- Maintain a positive attitude with good energy.
- Work in harmony with assigned co-workers and other department's staff.
- Create a positive, supportive working atmosphere.
- Display integrity and accountability.

Typical
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted, well-ventilated work area. Subject to burns, cuts, and falls. Exposed to hot and cold temperature changes. May be exposed to infection when handling contaminated dishes or silverware, etc. Exposed to continuous noises generated by electrical food service equipment.
