Job Summary
Occupational Therapist – PRN (Pediatric experience preferred) with Home Health of Western Colorado. Pay $ per hour. Requires travel to clients' homes.
Responsibilities- Provide ongoing therapy to clients in a timely manner per physician's orders.
- Communicate client progress within the agency and with families, physicians, and other health team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in agency meetings, in-service training, and ongoing staff education.
- Assist with scheduling, transportation, filing, and mailing as needed.
- Review and discuss client care plans and progress reports with interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct or participate in continuing education for agency staff.
- Assist in ensuring uninterrupted Occupational Therapy services by coordinating with staff during absences.
- Participate in department infection prevention and safety programs.
- Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy curriculum as described.
- Licensed or registered in the state as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to OT and ability to prepare meaningful reports.
- Coordination, dexterity, and adequate strength to manipulate tools and materials while instructing clients.
- Ability to use computers and other electronic devices for timekeeping, documentation, and in-service activities.
- Evaluate clients and provide Occupational Therapy per the written order of attending physicians.
- Manage and supervise OT assistants and rehabilitation aides in direct client care.
- Plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate OT services including scheduling, transportation, filing, and mailing.
- Initiate and document ordered treatments and report progress to physicians.
- Consult physicians regarding changes in clients' conditions during treatment.
- Re-evaluate clients in conjunction with attending physicians.
- Supervise OT service delivery and maintain performance standards.
- Prepare and maintain treatment records with progress notes, objectives, plan of care, procedures, and evaluations.
- Communicate with the Director of Clinical Services and other team members about client progress, problems, and plans.
- Develop, implement, and maintain work routines and staffing schedules.
- Initiate and direct in-service training programs.
- Attend and complete required in-services and online modules.
- Maintain compliance with the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and agency policies.
