The Diabetes Educator/Instructor is a healthcare professional certified as a diabetes educator. The staff member in this position provides individualized diabetes self-management education/training and support (DSMES) to individual patients according to Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and standards of Professional Performance for Diabetes Educators and AADE accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized diabetes self-management education/training and support (DSMES) to individual patients in accordance with Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and AADE accreditation requirements.
- Follow the Standards of Professional Performance for Diabetes Educators.
- Certified as a diabetes educator (professional credentials in DSME).
