Position Information:
Citizens Health is looking for a scheduler to work full-time in the surgery clinic at Citizens Medical Center.
Scheduler will report to the Surgery Manager.

Monday-Friday
Pay Range:
Dependent upon degree and experience.
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical record.
- Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, take messages, and provide information.
- Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
- Perform all Surgery scheduling for internal and external providers, oversee outreach scheduling and a point of contact for outreach facilities and clinics.
- Maintain Surgery Clinics routine day to day schedule, coordinate referrals.
- File charts, coordinate lab work, physician's reports, etc.
- Manage dictation files and transcribed reports, create patient accounts, coordinate billing information from outreach to billing department, create all of Surgical Clinic's incoming and outgoing patient medical records.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- One year experience in a medical office preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Word processing and computer experience. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for one year of experience.

Work in an air-conditioned environment with a temperature of 65-72 degrees Fahrenheit, and humidity of 45-55%. When assigned to assist with pediatric cases, temperature may be up to 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Must wear hospital-provided scrub attire while on duty. Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strain and exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or other diseases. Potential for exposure to anesthetic waste gases, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, exposure to high steam pressure and radiologic environment.

Requires standing, walking, bending, crouching/stooping, and carrying approximately 95% of the time when caring for patients and assisting with surgical procedures. Requires sitting approximately 5% of the time with repetitive motion of the hand and wrist at desk to schedule cases and answer phone. Requires pushing/pulling and reaching approximately 50% of the time that is spent standing to move beds, carts, equipment, and turning patients.
