Board Certified Behavior AnalystUSD 458 is currently accepting applications for an immediate opening for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
POSITION:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
PURPOSE:
Provide support to insure the successful inclusion of K‑5 students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in a public school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has demonstrated competency in collaborating with a team to develop individualized positive behavior support plans.
- Developing and monitoring behavioral and social skills instructional programs.
- Providing direct behavior analytic consultation and ongoing teacher training.
- Working as an integral member of an educational team providing high‑quality services to children with significant academic, behavioral, and social skills needs.
REPORTS TO:
Special Education Administrators and Building Principal(s).
- Manages students whose behavior is out‑of‑control for the purpose of maintaining a calm school environment and ensuring students’ success.
- Communicates with a variety of personnel (e.g., students, parents, teachers, administration, other staff) for the purpose of expressing concerns, resolving issues and developing plans for student success.
- Facilitates prevention and intervention protocols for students for the purpose of addressing behavioral issues, alleviating isolation, identifying support resources, enhancing coping skills and providing referrals.
- Intervenes to de‑escalate crisis situations, processes the situation, provides alternatives, and returns the student to the appropriate educational setting as quickly as possible.
- Maintains a visible, accessible presence at assigned locations for the purpose of increasing student awareness of program and support services.
- Provides individual and group support to students and parents for the purpose of preventing, addressing and resolving behavioral issues.
- Utilizes district‑approved behavior management techniques (e.g., talking problem through, teaching students coping skills, physically supporting, etc.) for the purpose of assisting students to fully participate in the educational setting.
- Effectively manages caseload and prepares all documentation in a timely fashion; participates in related IEP meetings.
- Conducts functional behavior assessments and recommends positive behavior supports for students with social‑behavioral needs.
- Provides support for staff in the use of empirically‑validated interventions.
- Ensures activities conform to Federal, State and District regulations and/or guidelines.
- Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by Special Education Administrators and Building Principals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.

Term of Employment: 10 months (188 Days);
Academic school year as assigned.
Evaluation:
Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Kansas Statutes and Board of Education Policy.
