Maple Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hiawatha, Kansas is seeking COTA!

Work Schedule:

Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN Pay Rate: depending on experience - $24 - $27 an hour, depending on experience

JOB SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing rehabilitative therapy to patients upon referral for cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders following all regulatory and clinical practice requirements. This includes recovery, improvement in function and when possible, a return to a prior level of functioning. Clinical documentation will describe objective measures and justification for continued or discontinued services.

This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Effectively screens/evaluates patients and/ with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develops appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
  • Utilizes standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
  • Provides rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
  • Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to: ADL retraining; therapeutic activities; therapeutic exercises; modalities; use of supportive and assistive devices; etc.
  • Assesses patient’s progress and adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
