Current Opening:
One Full-time position;
Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsible for Admitting and discharging patients according to established policies and procedures to ensure that information required to obtain payment is documented.
Essential Functions- Reviews all admission paperwork to determine accuracy and verification needs.
- Answers all in-coming calls and insures all callers are given accurate information and are referred to the appropriate depart if necessary.
- Collects payment at time of service and makes financial arrangements when necessary.
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-certify admission when necessary.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and professionally with patients and families the payment policy of the hospital
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or General education degree (GED) required.
- Previous work in the medical field is preferred. Specifically in medical terminology.
Required
- Strong working knowledge and skills in essential bookkeeping functions.
- Skills in operation of typical office equipment such as P.C’s, printers, terminals, calculator, FAX, Copiers.
- Knowledge and experience in using, Windows Excel and Word as well as small business application, and Health Care systems Applications – primary focus on accounting and financial functions.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and professionally with patients and families the payment policy of the hospital.
- Regularly lift or move objects weighing 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, stooping, bending, crouching, and working with equipment.
- The employee is also subject to exposure to blood and body fluids, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, exposure to burns and radiant energy, exposure to explosives, exposure to toxic chemicals and biological agents.
