Primary Function

To provide outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services to adults within the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, care coordination, and clinical documentation in accordance with agency, licensing, and funding requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • 1. Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for adults experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
  • 2. Conduct mental health and substance use screenings, assessments and appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • 3. Provide individual, family, and group therapy services utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • 4. Participate in Open Access services as assigned.
  • 5. Provide emergency/crisis intervention services, including rotating after-hours on-call duties.
  • 6. Participate in Recovery Court services and staffing meetings as assigned.
  • 7. Assist clients in accessing community resources and support services, as needed.
  • 8. Complete clinical documentation requirements in the electronic health record in accordance with agency policy.
Performance Requirements
  • 1. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented services, and substance use treatment.
  • 2. Demonstrate competency in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health and substance use disorders.
  • 3. Maintain knowledge of community resources and referral agencies.
  • 4. Meet agency productivity and documentation expectations.
Job Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy. Current Kansas licensure or licensure eligibility through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, including LMSW, LSCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT, LMLP, or LCP. Experience with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders strongly preferred. Addiction-specific licensure preferred but not required. Computer competency is required. Successful completion of background checks and credentialing requirements.

Physical Demands

This position requires sitting for long periods of time and the ability to work under high stress conditions. It also requires the ability to hear a normal range of voice, prepare written reports, and use computers and electronic health record systems.

Typical Working Conditions

Individuals in this position will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in office, community, court, and client home environments and may experience occasional exposure to communicable diseases and aggressive or violent clients.
