Position Summary
The Attendant Caregiver provides compassionate, dependable non-medical in-home support that helps clients remain safe, dignified, and as independent as possible. This essential role delivers everyday care, companionship, and practical assistance while respecting each client’s preferences, routines, and authorized care plan.
Attendant Caregivers are trusted to recognize and report concerns early, communicate clearly with the Impact Home Health team, and represent our values in every client home. The ideal candidate is caring, reliable, patient, flexible with scheduling, and committed to making a meaningful IMPACT every day.
Essential Responsibilities
Personal Care, Safety & Daily Living Support
- Provide non-medical personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting assistance, and brief changing as authorized in the client’s care plan.
- Assist clients with safe mobility, transfers, ambulation, and repositioning using proper body mechanics, gait belts, lifts, and other approved equipment as trained.
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and other approved activities that support a safe, comfortable home environment.
- Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support while honoring each client’s dignity, choices, culture, and routines.
- Follow all client-care instructions, infection-control practices, and safety procedures; immediately report accidents, injuries, hazards, or changes in the client environment.
Observation, Communication & Care Coordination
- Observe and promptly report changes in a client’s health, behavior, mood, mobility, appetite, safety, or overall well-being to the appropriate supervisor or nursing team.
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with clients, families, office staff, and fellow caregivers to support consistent, client-centered care.
- Arrive on time, complete scheduled visits as assigned, and notify the office immediately if a delay, emergency, or schedule concern arises.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely visit documentation in accordance with agency policy and applicable requirements.
- Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA expectations, client rights, and Impact Home Health policy.
