JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Physical therapy assistant performs testing as part of preemployment, post-accident and annual testing.
  • Physical therapy assistant will be trained to perform strength testing for post offer purposes, breath alcohol, drug Screen collections, audiometer, respirator fit testing and spirometry testing.
  • Physical therapy assistant will assist in the flow of the clinic by greeting customers, answering phones, communicating with patients and employers.
  • Physical therapy assistant will be certified to perform urine collections and breath alcohol testing for both DOT and NON DOT standards.
  • Will be knowledgeable of the post offer physical process and will play a significant role in the testing of the patient.
  • Will provide medical assistance to the physician during workers compensation care and sports medicine patients.
  • Will document on the services and complete documentation on a daily basis so charges can flow within the EMR system.
Position Description
  • Physical therapy assistant will maintain knowledge of the needs and customer satisfaction of the companies contracted for services.
  • Physical therapy assistant will perform patient education as directed by the physician including crutch training, splint application, brace application.
  • Physical therapy assistant will assist in donning and doffing casting applications.
  • Position also requires assisting the physician in performing in office procedures including but not limited to joint injections, draining of fluid, ultrasound guidance.
