Summary:
This role provides 24/7 crisis stabilization services to adults and youth experiencing mental health emergencies in a regional setting within the Midwest. The primary mission is to reduce inpatient hospital admissions, minimize law enforcement involvement, and engage individuals in outpatient treatment to support their recovery journey. The position involves delivering intensive, goal-oriented care to those requiring crisis stabilization, collaborating closely with clinical and community partners to ensure a higher level of support and promote community tenure for consumers.
Functions
- Deliver crisis stabilization services to individuals in mental health crisis at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Engage clients positively and supportively, monitoring and documenting treatment progress, activities, and behaviors.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living and collaborate regularly with community partners, caregivers, family members, physicians, and other providers until the crisis resolves.
- Under clinician supervision, help coordinate access to appropriate care levels following assessments.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques in intense situations and support medication compliance and crisis management.
- Monitor clients one-on-one for safety as needed and assist with scheduling follow-up mental health appointments.
- Work towards successful reintegration of consumers into their homes, communities, schools, and outpatient services.
- May include night and weekend shifts based on community crisis needs and coordination with management.
- Complete all required documentation, training, and competency reviews accurately and timely.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Computer proficiency.
Education and Experience
- Two or more years of professional experience in mental health services, crisis response, or related fields.
- Experience educating clients on self-care and improving daily living activities.
- Must pass background checks including child and adult abuse registries and motor vehicle screening.
- Complete CPR, First Aid, and other required trainings within 60 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
