AMHT | Mental Health Technician - Crisis Stabilization

Join a compassionate team providing intensive, goal-oriented support to individuals experiencing mental health crises in a crisis stabilization setting. This role involves delivering essential services that promote safety, medication adherence, and goal management while utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation following organizational policies.
  • Provide crisis stabilization support to clients facing mental health emergencies.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, medication compliance, and crisis management.
  • Engage with clients positively and supportively, maintaining their safety and dignity.
  • Adhere to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain professional communication and relationships with clients, team members, healthcare providers, and external agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Preferred:
    Two or more years of professional experience in mental health services, crisis response, or related fields.

Licenses and

Certifications:

  • Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance meeting regional requirements if driving is necessary.
  • Successful completion of background checks including KBI, DCF, child abuse registry, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screening.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with community mental health services.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work involving occasional exertion up to 25 lbs and frequent exertion up to 10 lbs.
  • Standing or walking 11-25% of the workday.
