What Does a Caregiver Actually Do?

You help people continue living life on their terms, in the comfort of their own homes.

Depending on the client, your day may include:

Helping with bathing, dressing and personal care

Assisting with mobility, transfers and getting around safely

Preparing meals and helping around the home

Providing companionship and conversation

Helping clients remain safe and independent at home

Offering encouragement, patience and a helping hand

What You’ll Need

• Must be 19 years of age or older
• CPR/First Aid Certification (Caretech offers reimbursement)
• Valid Driver's License or State
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening
• Previous caregiving experience is helpful, but not required
• Experience with transfers, gait belts or Hoyer lifts is a plus
