Virtual orientation on Monday - - Credentials due: 1 week prior to start
- - Floating:
May float to MS for overflow; care for pediatric patients as needed
- - Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery, including admission assessment, monitoring labor progress, assisting with delivery, and postpartum/baby care.
- - Monitor maternal vitals and fetal status; interpret fetal heart rate patterns; respond to abnormalities; administer medications as prescribed; support during labor and delivery.
- - Collaborate with obstetric and interprofessional teams; document findings and care plans in the electronic medical record; adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- - Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care; participate in discharge planning and postpartum instruction.
- - Maintain flexibility to float to medical-surgical units as needed for overflow and to care for pediatric patients; utilize EPIC for charting and orders.
- - Active RN license in Kansas or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
- - Certifications:
AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; must have taken a fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) within the past 24 months; must be committed to obtaining PALS prior to start. - - Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; willing to float to MS and care for pediatric patients; EPIC experience highly preferred; experience in rural hospital settings welcomed. - - Education:
RN qualification; ability to work in a labor and delivery department within a short-term acute care hospital. - - Additional:
Ability to work a night shift schedule; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced obstetric setting and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

- - Travel assignment with 13-week contract duration
- - On-call and weekend rotation as described (every other weekend; 2–3 on-call shifts per month; holiday rotation)
