Under the general direction of the Pool Manager and the Director of Facilities, Pool Utility staff are responsible for promoting a relaxing and enjoyable Club experience for all members and guests by ensuring readily available clean towels are provided throughout the day. Pool Utility continually picks up wet towels and clean surrounding areas. Pool Utility must uphold and enforce all policies set forth by Woodside.
Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with all Lifeguards and Pool Desk Staff.
- Continuously maintain clean towels at all approved stations, lounge chairs, and pool areas.
- Ensure towel stations are fully stocked and presentable.
- Collect soiled wet towels and deliver them to the laundry area for cleaning.
- Maintain all pool areas as prescribed by Woodside: umbrellas, towels, chairs, etc.
- Make sure all unoccupied chairs are uniform and reset the exact same way.
- Prepare and monitor all pool areas ensuring they are always "photo ready".
- Pick up trash around the pool area.
- Empty trash cans and keep water stations fully stocked.
- Sweep up trash as needed.
- Report any maintenance/emergency issues as they arise.
- May be asked to support special events within the club.
- Move throughout the shift with purpose; no personal cell phone usage during shift.
- Comply with the club’s employee handbook, departmental policies and procedures, and all applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Education/ExperienceMust be a minimum of 15 years of age and physically able to lift 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.
Skills- Physically endure lifting, stooping, walking, and standing for the entire shift.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to work in hot temperatures throughout the shift.
- Ability to work special events, promotions, and other demands of the position which requires early morning, late evenings, and weekend hours.
- Constantly walking, bending, reaching, pulling, and stretching.
95% outdoors in hot temperatures; high volume of members/guests during nice weather; exposure to extreme heat.
