Job Description
Worthington Enterprises is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Maize manufacturing facility. This role serves as a trusted advisor to employees, leaders, and the management team while helping drive a culture centered on Worthington's People First philosophy. The facility operates 24/7 with production shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; a flexible schedule is required to support employees and leaders across all shifts.
Eligibility – This position is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers, where applicable.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with leaders to drive employee engagement, performance, and retention.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, corrective action, and employee development.
- Lead complex employee relations investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Support talent management initiatives including workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, and career growth.
- Partner with hiring managers and recruiting resources to attract, select, and retain top talent.
- Review bi‑weekly payroll for accuracy and consistency.
- Lead employee engagement efforts, culture initiatives, and action planning activities.
- Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities and improve business performance.
- Partner with HR leadership on compensation planning, pay administration, and benefit‑related programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Provide guidance to leaders regarding legal, regulatory, and policy‑related matters.
- Oversee workers' compensation matters and collaborate with internal and external resources as needed.
- Support training, development, and safety initiatives that strengthen employee capability and organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as a key HR resource for employee communications, organizational change, and site‑wide HR initiatives.
- Act as the company's HR representative within the local community and support community engagement activities.
- Builds trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Maintains a visible presence on the production floor and actively engages with employees across shifts.
- Balances empathy and approachability with consistency, accountability, and sound decision‑making.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen and the ability to influence leaders.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and efficiently manages multiple priorities.
- Uses data, judgment, and problem‑solving skills to drive solutions and improve outcomes.
- Communicates effectively and confidently in challenging situations.
- High School or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi‑shift environment.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, talent management, compensation practices, and organizational development.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and coaching leaders.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
