Equity Staffing Group is hiring a People Operations Generalist for a growing engineering and construction organization in Edwardsville, KS. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing employee relations, payroll administration, recruiting, and compliance while making a direct impact on the employee experience.

Salary $55,000-$63,000
What You'll DoAs the People Operations Generalist, you'll support employees from hire to retirement while ensuring accurate payroll administration and compliance with company policies.
Key responsibilities include:- Manage day-to-day employee relations and serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers.
- Address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and foster a positive work environment.
- Coordinate recruiting activities, including posting positions and working with recruiting partners.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all employment documentation is completed accurately.
- Support performance review cycles, salary administration, and employee performance documentation.
- Administer employee benefits and serve as the on-site point of contact for benefit questions.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and required training programs.
- Process payroll documentation, including I-9s, W-4s, direct deposit forms, and new hire paperwork.
- Review and audit weekly payroll timesheets for accuracy, including hours worked, pay rates, per diem, and travel bonuses.
- Coordinate labor reporting, payroll submissions, workers' compensation documentation, unemployment claims, and employment verifications.
- Enter labor data into the ERP system to support project reporting and revenue recognition.
- Work closely with internal leadership and the parent company's People Operations team to ensure smooth payroll and HR operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Payroll, or a similar People Operations role.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and employment laws.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, or industrial organizations.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Professional payroll certification is a plus.
