SUMMARY: The HR Specialist supports a wide range of human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee support, benefits administration, timekeeping, payroll coordination, and HR recordkeeping. This role serves as a key resource for employees and supervisors while helping deliver a positive employee experience. In addition to day-to-day HR operations, the HR Specialist partners on site and company-wide HR initiatives, process improvements, and employee programs that support a growing and high-performing workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Support hourly recruitment and onboarding, including candidate coordination, pre-employment activities, and new hire orientation.
- Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors regarding routine HR, benefits, timekeeping, payroll, and policy questions.
- Maintain accurate employee information, personnel records, and HR documentation in accordance with company requirements.
- Review timekeeping information and partner with supervisors and payroll to address discrepancies or corrections.
- Support benefits administration, employee enrollment activities, and annual Open Enrollment.
- Process employee changes and other personnel actions within HR systems.
- Assist with offboarding, training coordination, reporting, audits, and other HR initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Human Resources function.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Seaboard Energy HR function.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must have effective, professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding HR/Personnel information.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification upon hire.
- 1+ years of experience in an HR support or administrative role; recruiting, timekeeping, or payroll support experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of labor laws (EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and HR fundamentals preferred.
- Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, and timekeeping systems (ADP or UKG Pro) preferred.
