Claims Adjuster, Auto PD

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage auto physical damage claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
• Review coverage, determine liability as applicable, and evaluate vehicle damages.
• Coordinate inspections with repair facilities, appraisers, rental vendors, and customers.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal partners.
• Review estimates, photographs, repair documentation, and total loss evaluations.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits and document claim activity accurately.
• Monitor claim progress to ensure timely handling and compliance with company standards and state regulations.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and elevate concerns when appropriate.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service expectations in a fast‑paced environment.
• Assist customers through a stressful experience with empathy and professionalism.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in insurance claims, customer service, collision estimating, or related field preferred
• Basic understanding of automobile repair processes and vehicle damage evaluation preferred
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Comfortable using claims management systems and standard business software
• Ability to make sound decisions and apply problem-solving skills
• Property and casualty licenses required. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
