Lyndon USD 421 is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our high school facilities. This is a full-time position with benefits, ideal for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, including periodic deep cleaning and floor care
- Clean and disinfect restrooms using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions
- Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste
- Clean windows, doors, and interior glass surfaces as assigned
- Set up and break down spaces for events, activities, and athletic functions as needed
- Refill supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
- Follow established safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Secure building areas at the end of the shift and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors
- Assist with seasonal deep-cleaning projects during breaks or summer months
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and willingness to learn district procedures
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality in a school setting
- Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)
