Job Title: Executive Director of Research, Assessment, and Student Information Salary

To provide strategic leadership in the management of district data systems, Federal, State, and Local reporting; and research initiatives. The Executive Director maintains the integrity of the Student Information System (SIS) and provides timely reports, presentations and consulting necessary for impactful data‑driven administrative decisions. The Executive Director serves as the lead liaison between the district and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction concerning the SIS and state accountability requirements.

• Manages SIS Provides high‑level management of the Student Information System (SIS), ensuring that system structures and data standards are established and maintained to ensure reliable data products and operational efficiency.
• Data Privacy Dedicated to protecting student and staff data privacy through training, and review and revision of procedures.
• End Users Collaborate with District Leadership to provide guidance and support necessary for School Counselors, Teachers, and Data Managers to use the SIS with accuracy and fidelity.
• Supports Directors Empowers departmental leaders through training and technical guidance to use the SIS effectively to meet their specific job duties and reporting requirements.
• Integrations Collaborates with Instructional and Information Technology Leadership to build and revise integrations that interface with approved third‑party vendors focusing on Data Privacy and efficiency.

• Compliance Oversees accountability processes to ensure compliance with State requirements.
• Data Validation Monitors data validation for State and District programs in the SIS, and develops new reports to foster independent accountability among District Program Leads.
• Responsive Reports Collaborates regularly with district leadership to refine preexisting reports to meet evolving organizational needs.
• Subject Matter Expertise Interprets the accountability programs and their philosophies to the Board, the administration, the staff, parents, and general public.
• Efficiency Streamlines workflows to enhance organizational capacity and performance.
• Report Production Manages the production of District reports for administrators and the Board of Education.
• Partners Creates an effective partnership with the Director of Research and Reporting to meet the District's Accountability and Reporting needs by sharing tasks as needed.
• Surveys Oversees district surveys and builds selected ad‑hoc surveys on demand.
• Data Visualization Oversees data visualization and use of reporting tools.
• Consulting Consults with school administrators to improve their ability to interpret and utilize data effectively.
• Analytical Storytelling Uses analytical storytelling to put numbers into action steps to tell the story of district data/trends in presentations to the Board of Education, SLT, DLT, and other stakeholder groups.
• Liaison Acts as the primary liaison between the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC) and CHCCS regarding data and reporting standards.

• RASI (Research Assessment and Student Information) Team Leads the RASI team by conducting regular meetings and fostering professional growth.
• Data Managers Leads the school Data Managers and oversees their onboarding and professional learning within the SIS.
• Active Team Member Serves as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and District Leadership Team (DLT).

• Ad hoc Data Requests Manages ad‑hoc data requests and distributes tasks between roles as suits the needs of the district, and ensures administrators have equal access to needed information.
